How long before the wedding should you buy your wedding dress
Wedding planning involves many important decisions, but one of the most personal and emotional is choosing the wedding dress.
That’s why the question “When should I buy my wedding dress?” inevitably appears in the mind of any bride-to-be. The short answer is: the earlier, the better. But let’s talk honestly and realistically about everything this process entails.
Why you shouldn’t leave the dress until the last minute
The wedding dress is not just a simple dress; it may be the most important garment you will ever wear. And no matter how romantic the choice, the practical side must not be ignored. If you dream of a made-to-order dress, created especially for you, you need at least 6 months before the wedding to start the search. And that doesn’t mean deciding on the exact model at the last moment.

It all starts with scheduling a fitting, where you will discuss with the designer or consultant what you like, what you want to hide, what you want to highlight, and how you imagine looking on your wedding day.
What happens after you order your dress
Once you’ve chosen the design, the dress goes into production, and its creation generally takes 3-4 months. It’s a complex piece, with hand-worked details, meticulous finishes, and special materials. It’s not an everyday dress, so be patient and give it time.
Two months before the wedding, you’ll come for the first fitting of the ordered dress. This is the moment when we see how it fits you, whether it needs adjustment at the waist, whether it needs to be shortened depending on the shoes you’ve chosen, or if anything has changed with your silhouette. It’s the moment when the dress truly takes shape and becomes yours.

Two weeks before the wedding, the dress will be ready to pick up: freshly pressed, perfectly adjusted, just waiting to be worn on the big day.

And what if I decide late?
If you’ve postponed the moment or changed your mind about the dress, it’s not all lost. At Aryanna Karen we also have models available in stock, ready to be tried on, altered, and bought on the spot. However, you should know that these models cannot be radically changed, and if you come less than 3 weeks before the wedding, options will be limited.

And, to be completely honest, if you’re a more indecisive bride (and it’s normal to be), the closer to the wedding you get your dress, the less time you have to change your mind. So yes, that can even be an advantage!
What we care about and what we don’t when you come for a fitting
We’ve often heard: “I’m not coming now, I put on a few kilos”, or “I’ll wait, I’m not waxed”. Let’s clarify something:
We don’t care how many kilos you have, whether you have cellulite or not. We’re not here to judge bodies, but to find the dress that highlights your real beauty.
We don’t care how your breasts look without a bra. Large, small, sagging or firm, that’s not what matters. What matters is finding the design that makes you feel good in your own skin.
We don’t care whether your legs are shaved or not. Seriously. We’re not a beauty salon.

But do you know what we care about? That you come with a smile on your face, with confidence, with an open heart. Because we are here for you, not for impossible ideals.
When is the right time to start the search?
Ideally, 9-12 months before the wedding you start looking, trying on, and deciding. At 6 months, you place the order. At 2 months you do the final fitting. And two weeks before, the dress is at your home.
If you have less time, don’t panic. Write us, call us, come to the showroom and we’ll see what options we have. But if you can, give yourself the necessary time. Choosing a wedding dress shouldn’t be a race against the clock. It’s a unique experience. Enjoy it!
Regardless of your body shape, how many centimeters you have at the waist, or how much time there is until the wedding, trust that there is a perfect dress for you too. And we are here to help you find it.
