Which wedding dress to choose according to your hair color
Choosing the perfect wedding dress is a challenge. But did you know that not only your body shape or the wedding style should influence this choice, but also your hair color? The tones in your hair, your skin’s undertones, and the contrast between them can make a dress look WOW or, sadly, completely wash it out.
So let’s be honest: your wedding dress should brighten your face and fit perfectly with who you are, not just with what is “in fashion”.
If you have black or very dark brown hair
Your hair color creates a strong contrast with your complexion, so you need a dress that brings balance and highlights your features. Pure white shades can sometimes be too harsh, so we recommend choosing whites with warm undertones: white + nude, white + champagne, or even a slightly pearly ivory.

The Estera dress is an example of strong femininity. With a mermaid-style design and refined details, it accentuates your curves and adds elegance with every step.

The Kylie dress is an excellent choice. It has that perfect balance between modern and romantic, and the warm shades will complement both dark hair and porcelain or olive complexions.
If you have brown or light brown hair
You’re lucky, because you can play with a wider palette of shades. But if you want a dress that subtly highlights your natural tones, go for ivory or powder pink.

The Alessandra dress, in soft ivory shades, is the ideal choice for a regal yet delicate look. The embroidery and flowing fabric turn every detail into a compliment for your warm complexion.

For a more romantic appearance, choose nude pink. The Gardenia dress has that dreamy air that suits a dreamy bride perfectly, while the Genesis dress perfectly combines subtle shades with refined design.

If you have blonde hair
Blondes are among the few who can wear white dresses without looking washed out. Natural, slightly satin white brightens the complexion and creates that angelic effect that makes a bride look like something out of a fairy tale.

The Gabby dress is perfect for you if you want a pure look with sophisticated details.

And if you dream of a truly distinctive dress that combines classic elegance with a commanding design, the Gloriana dress is the choice that will make your entrance unforgettable.
A very short history of the wedding dress
Today, the idea that the wedding dress must be white seems almost an unwritten rule. But the truth is that this ‘tradition’ has relatively recent roots and, surprisingly, was not related to purity—at least not at the start.
Until the 19th century, brides in Europe chose their wedding dress based on their social status and the clothes they already had in their wardrobe. There was no dedicated ‘wedding dress’—women wore their best clothes, regardless of color. White was actually considered impractical and hard to maintain, and was rarely reserved for special occasions. Wealthy brides opted for dresses in deep colors: royal blue, brick red, gold, or even silver, while women from the middle and lower classes wore dresses in dark, durable shades that they could reuse later.
The radical change occurred in 1840, when Queen Victoria of Great Britain chose to wear a white dress at her own wedding to Prince Albert. The reason? She wanted to showcase Honiton lace, a British handmade product she supported. Her decision was considered unusual at the time, but the images and descriptions of the dress became so widespread that they began to influence women’s tastes across Europe.
White began to be associated with elegance, refinement and, gradually, with the idea of purity and virginity—symbols that were later attached by the Church and the conservative society of the Victorian era. By the end of the 19th century, the white dress had already become an aspirational choice for women of higher social classes, and in the following decades it became increasingly accessible.
Today, brides have more freedom than ever—and wedding dresses come in shades of ivory, nude, champagne, powder pink and even black. Pure white has remained, however, the classic symbol of weddings, but it has evolved from a ‘traditional uniform’ to a personal aesthetic choice.
Regardless of hair color, skin tone or personal style, there is a wedding dress that will make you feel perfect.
